Field service perspective: communicate, design, travel.

In conversation with Marius Urbanowicz: Our sales manager provides insights into the exciting roles, typical challenges and advantages of a sales job with a focus on field service. Because this is where our team needs to continue to grow.

Four markets. One team.

LEAB is active in four core markets: BOS (authorities and organisations with security tasks), service, transport and leisure. “For us, it's always about power supply in vehicles. And with the electrification of drives we are in an incredibly exciting phase,” says Marius, describing the area of activity of our field service. The team is on the road all over Germany and in some cases beyond in order to support ongoing projects and plan new ones in direct dialogue with clients. Now we need to expand the team.

We have strong prospects in the market and want to grow further. That's why we are looking for reinforcement.

Together for the best solution

Marius himself is also an active member of the team. “I like to be on the road and I enjoy the direct contact with our customers. At the end of the day, we develop and sell products that help people - and I get to meet these people. This is the best way to understand what is needed in each situation and what challenges need to be overcome.

Trade fairs are just as important as the prospect of appointments for our field service

Each assignment and each project is different

In Marius' eyes, diversity is another key advantage of the profession. “Whether we're dealing with small or large series, many or few components, customer A, B or C - we look for system solutions and these differ every time.” That's what makes the job so varied. “Then there are the trade fairs: These events are just fun and help the team grow together.”

What applicants need to offer

In the eyes of the team leader, anyone interested in a sales role with a focus on field sales must have three qualities above all:

  • Openness

  • Honesty

  • Strong communication skills

“A basic knowledge of electrical engineering should be there, the rest can be learned. Much more important is dealing with people and having a feel for the industry.”

What LEAB offers

Marius can pinpoint the decisive motivating factor for working in field service: “Creative freedom. Once you've joined the team, you can be responsible for planning appointments, trips and projects.” The entire LEAB team is behind you and will support the implementation. “We don't believe in a dog-eat-dog mentality here - all processes are geared towards fair cooperation,” emphasises our sales manager.
