The LPS II as a mobile power supply - controllable via the central on-board management system in accordance with the CI-BUS standard

Our solutions for mobile power supply also play a major role in motor homes. The number of devices carried is constantly on the rise, as is the amount of energy required. This is reliably supplied by our all-in-one solution for mobile power supply, the LPS II. What is particularly practical is the fact that the most important data such as charging status and input and output current can be tracked via the central vehicle display or optional additional displays and apps. This is made possible by our CAN-LIN Gateway and the Caravaning-Industrie-BUS, or CI-BUS.

CI-BUS: One standard for all

There is now a huge range of electronic devices that make life more comfortable when travelling, from the fuel level indicator to the air conditioning and ambient lighting. In order to be able to control the various devices centrally, a common communication standard is required between the control centre in the cockpit or body of the vehicle and the various devices.

Central control over all devices

The solution: The CI-BUS. This common standard was launched in 2011 under the auspices of the Caravaning Industrie Verband (Caravaning Industry Association CIVD). With the help of data cables (BUS lines), all installed devices can be monitored and controlled via the central on-board management system. And this can be supplemented with additional devices at any time as required.

CI-BUS is commonly used

The standard is now used by 67 CIVD member companies on four continents and is found in a large number of motor homes. CI-BUS partners include brands such as ADRIA, Carthago, Dethleffs, Frankia, Hobby, Hymer, LMC, MORELO, NIESMANN + BISCHOFF and Truma.

The LPS II provides power in the motor home - thanks to the CI-BUS standard, with central control via the vehicle display.

CI-BUS enables control via Bluetooth and Internet

In addition to its compatibility, the CI-BUS technology is particularly practical with its various operation features. From short distances, the units can be controlled directly by remote control or with a smart phone via Bluetooth connection.

If you are further away from the vehicle, a radio network is necessary to use all functions via the smart phone. Some manufacturers have also developed their own apps for operating the on-board technology. For example, you can switch on the heating from the ski slope before returning to the vehicle or switch on the air conditioning in summer after a trip to the beach.

Compatible with a wide range of manufacturers and brands

Because so many manufacturers have committed to CI-BUS as a common standard, the possibilities for retrofitting are now greater than ever. There is almost no need to consider brand or manufacturer when choosing new devices - as long as you check that the end devices are compatible with the CI-BUS system. Each consumer is connected to the control via a separate module. You send your command ("set heating to 20 degrees") to the CI-BUS, which ensures that it is addressed directly to the device.

Many well-known motor home brands use the CI-BUS standard.

Our all-in-one solution for mobile power supply is also compatible with the CI-BUS standard. This means you have an overview of the important information and functions at all times via the on-board management system of your motor home.

  • State of charge of the auxiliary battery

  • Solar current and voltage

  • Input current (AC and DC)

  • Output current

  • Output power

You can also switch the LPS II on and off via the central board display.

The powerful lithium-ion battery supplies 12-volt as well as 230-volt devices of your motor home with energy cleanly and quietly. The capacity is easily sufficient for many electrical products we rely on every day - from coffee machines to laptop or e-bike chargers.

The link between the LPS II and the CI-BUS is our CAN-LIN gateway, which ensures that all the information arrives directly at the vehicle display. all the important data can be viewed and the most important functions controlled.
