Quality with format

This week, our Quality Day celebrates its premiere. Once a year, the internal format gives one department the chance to present its processes around the topic of quality. This creates awareness for their own processes, gives other departments insight and promotes appreciation and a culture of error.

From impulse to format

The idea for Quality Day came about during an ISO audit. "Each of our departments takes many small and large steps every day to ensure the high quality of our products - both consciously and unconsciously," explains Managing Director Richard Westerkamp. "The Quality Day brings these achievements into focus: it is a form of appreciation, reflection and exchange."

Presenting and being presented

The procedure is quickly explained: Every year, a selected department presents its quality assurance measures and steps in a short presentation (30 - 45 min.). To ensure that the format can be easily integrated into the daily work routine, there are several dates. Small groups (max. 10 people) from the other departments can get together and choose a suitable time slot. We are starting this year with production. Together with our production manager Finn Krüger, Nicole Schmidt from quality management has taken charge of the implementation and organisation.

Advantages for both parties

„This format has positive effects for both the presenters and the audience“, says Richard Westerkamp. It helps the presenters to become aware of the many steps that contribute to quality assurance and to reflect on them. At the same time, they experience appreciation for their daily work.

The audience is offered insights into the other departments. This supports an awareness of the overall processes in the company and may even serve as inspiration for their own quality assurance processes.

Quality Day is a chance to learn from each other, take pride in our own work and grow even further together as a team - we're looking forward to it!
