Vehicle with 230 V supply: more power, optimised charging curves
Modern emergency vehicles require more than just standard charging via the 12 V or 24 V on-board power supply. Absolute reliability is particularly important for fire brigades, rescue services or intensively used fleets. A permanently installed 230 V power supply in the vehicle offers a powerful, efficient and safe solution.
More power with lower charging losses
The direct 230 V mains supply ensures that all batteries are charged at full power, eliminating long charging cables with power losses and increasing efficiency. Even large battery capacities can be fully charged in a short time.
Suitable charging curves for every battery type
A permanently installed charger automatically recognises different battery types and precisely adjusts the charging profile. Both starter and auxiliary batteries thus receive the optimum charge. This extends the service life of the energy storage system and reduces the risk of failure.
Ready for use at any time with maximum convenience
The charger can be supplied directly with 230 V via an external power supply. This keeps all batteries at the optimum charging level at all times, whether in the garage or in the yard. This increases operational readiness and ensures greater safety in everyday use.
LEAB solutions: Champ Pro and TS Pro
Champ Pro is the robust charger for special and emergency vehicles. It offers high power reserves, reliable charging current control and a compact design. In addition to the four adjustable charging characteristics, a microprocessor in combination with a temperature sensor integrated in the cable ensures the ideal charging voltage. This protects the battery and extends its service life.
The TS Pro is suitable for portable fire pumps, starter batteries for diesel generators or other small electrical consumers. It fulfils all the requirements of the new standard for fire and rescue vehicles DIN 14679:2024-02. The device combines safety with simple integration and long-lasting operation.
Both chargers can be installed flexibly and work reliably with different battery types.
Conclusion
The 230 V power supply with permanently installed charger offers a reliable, powerful and future-proof solution for vehicles in professional use. With optimised charging curves, compact design and high operational reliability, devices such as Champ Pro and TS Pro ensure operational capability at the highest level.
Our highlight at RETTmobil: We will be presenting our new ‘RC’ charger series for the first time, which is of course compliant with DIN14679, but also fully integrated into the FireCAN for the first time. Get to know this innovation at our exhibition stand.
